RAK Hospital’s initiative is motivating individuals to make positive changes in their diet and engage in regular physical activity to manage and potentially reverse diabetes. The second edition of this lifestyle change initiative, which offers rewards of up to Dh5,000, has returned.
Partnering with the Ministry of Health and Prevention in Ras Al Khaimah, RAK Hospital has introduced a three-month health challenge designed exclusively for individuals with an HbA1C (average blood sugar) level of 5.7 and above. Participants are encouraged to modify their diet and engage in regular exercise to effectively manage and potentially reverse diabetes.

Registration Period: Starting August 14, individuals can register for the RAK Diabetes Challenge on the hospital’s website. Registration will remain open for six days until August 20. The challenge will conclude on November 14, which is World Diabetes Day.
Participation Categories: The challenge will have three categories: Physical, Virtual, and Corporate. Participants from various parts of the UAE are expected to take part.
Prizes: The initiative offers attractive prizes for the winners in different categories:
- Grand winners (male and female): Dh5,000 each
- 2nd place (male and female): Dh3,000 each
- 3rd place (male and female): Dh2,000 each

Previous Winners: In the previous year, Bahawooddin Saiyed achieved an impressive improvement in the Physical Category (Male), including a substantial reduction in HbA1C levels and weight loss. Saira Waseem Malik emerged victorious in the female category, showcasing significant overall improvement.
